I was lucky enough to meet this gorgeous family! Tim, Jenny, Henry, and Cora were perfectly dressed in beautiful shades of olive green with some extra ruffles for Cora’s smash cake pictures. We decided on this location in Poulsbo, Washington, because of the barn we were able to include and the big pasture. The weather was warm with some clouds in the sky.
It is so nice when pictures can be taken on private property, away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. It gives families a chance to connect with each other and be in the moment. Sometimes during a photography session, I encourage families to NOT look at the camera. This may feel awkward to some, but those are the authentic moments we treasure. I think it is nice to have a variety of images for families as a reflection of their experience.
This family portrait session also included a cake smash! Cora turned one, four days after these pictures were taken. At first she was dainty and touched the cake very lightly. Then, she dove right into her banana cake with her brother. I absolutely love that Jenny put Cora in pearls for her pictures!
Here are some of my favorite (gosh, there were so many good ones) pictures from their family portrait session…
