Oh my, how I LOVE summer time photo shoots! The warm air and the golden sunset can create the most beautiful portraits. The Purves family were so much fun to meet and photograph. We decided on taking pictures on private property in Poulsbo, Washington. When capturing portraits for extended families, I personally prefer having a location where people won’t be walking by in the background. With small children, especially, it is important for me to work quickly and efficiently while also allowing families to enjoy each other in the moment. The four children were amazing for their pictures. The oldest even found a grasshopper in the tall grass! I truly enjoy watching families come together and connect in a natural way. You can see their love for one another throughout the photographs. My favorite pictures always end up being the most unexpected ones! Here are a few of my favorite portraits from the Purves’ multigenerational family session.

WELCOME

Hi, I’m Ashley and I believe your birth story matters. The day you welcome your baby into the world matters. Documenting your strength and power matters. Birth is a transforming experience that is positively worth capturing!
